When no cell seems to have just one possibility, change your viewpoint. Find every place a particular digit can occupy in a row, column or box. If there is only one, you have found a hidden single.
Medium grids are evaluated using naked and hidden singles. Complete pencil marks can help you spot that unique position. Update your notes after each placement and distinguish a possibility from an answer you have already proved.
